About

yoganagYoga Nag is the alter ego of me, Daisy Whittemore, a yoga teacher (E-RYT) and blogger, who has finally found my way to a daily yoga practice by promising myself one pose a day. Just like a potato chip, it is hard to have just one.  As a whimsical yogi, bred without much structure or discipline, I struggled mightily to create a regular practice for myself. I stumbled into the idea of one pose a day, which has lotus blossomed out of the muck of me into something beautiful, sweet, and yes, with real moments of meditation.  Ahhhhh.  It has been so much better for me than the many previous promises, challenges, and failed resolutions. I figured I wasn’t alone in this struggle to bring yoga into my daily life, nor was I the only undisciplined, planning-challenged individual in the world.  So, what did I do?  I started writing about it.  My first blogs starting on another website that is not longer alive, but several blogs can still be found on elephant journal: (1) Do One Pose Today; and (2) Do One Pose–Everyday–for 40 Days; (3) Why Practice Yoga Alone? (4) Why I Needed Prenatal Yoga 9 Years After Giving Birth.

I also started nagging friends, students, and even strangers to bring yoga into their daily lives, one pose at a time.  I continued to nag myself in the process.  And Yoga Nag was born.  All I needed was one pose a day, and a little sweet nagging.

Perhaps the same goes for you. Try it.

For a long time, I posted “nags” every day on various social media outlets and to a long email list. I was Yoga Nagging to help others practice yoga. I don’t do as much nagging anymore here, but I do regularly post on Instagram.
