Handstand practicing with Charlie. Still such a funny puppy. Always makes it a little sweeter.

Happy weekend yogis!

Yoga toes. Can lead to strong feet and lower legs. This is one of my favorites. Plant all toes. Keep big and baby toes landed, including the toe mounds, and lift up those middle three. It may take a little bit to build that neural muscular pathway. But it will come. With practice. You can do one foot at a time to start. You can be standing or seated. I even work it in down dog sometimes, with obviously less lift off but similar muscular action. For fun, notice what happens to your face and your hands when you try. Mine get all squirrelly unless I consciously tell them to relax and stop trying to help out their little toe siblings.

Do yoga. Today. Every day.

Name this pose. Anyone? I saw a beautiful version by instagrammer @shauna_harrison that is exquisitely horizontal. Beyond hip flexibility, which needs work, I couldn’t figure out the action to match it. But fun play. From gecko. Try it!

Happy Friday!

If an elephant can crow, perhaps you can too. And yes, some days it can feel just like this.

Do yoga. Today. Every day.

And thanks to Instagrammers @allyoucanyoga for the picture.

I don’t usually do Throw back Thursday, #TBT, but this is a big one.

2 years ago this week, I had just finished my #YTT–Yoga Teacher Training, 200 hours–and taught my very first solo yoga class. I still feel like a baby teacher in many ways.

5 years ago this month I stepped into @willowstreetyoga for the first time for a @mariahamburger Yoga and Abs class. This was after several brief love affairs with yoga during my life. Apparently, this one took.

Maha gratitude to all of my teachers and fellow students. It takes a village to raise a #yogi. I feel a blog bubbling up to the surface here…..perhaps.

Do yoga. Today. Every day.

Building blocks. Hug legs toward each other. Draw belly button to spine. Connect. Build from there. Hugging toward the midline, the center, the core. Of you.

Do yoga. Today. Every day.
