What grounds you? is the #freshstartyoga practice of the day, thanks to @kathrynbudig. So much in yoga grounds me. It is one of the main reasons I practice. This whirling dervish of a human needs to stop and breathe for my life to work well. Standing poses are great for me. Seated poses. Lying on my back poses. All good. But my favorite go-to yoga when I need to feel my roots firmly planted is mantra and meditation. I sit myself down. In front of my puja. To chant. Breathe. Find my center. Feel the earth. Feel my body sitting on the earth. Feel gratitude for this body, this earth, this practice, and all of those who surround and guide me. This part of the practice is my best anchor. Always.
