Fun, beach practice toward the scorpion variation of pinchamayurasana. Still working on the balance and the length, and–oh yeah–that “heart melting” before bending those knees. There are many stops along the way in this practice. I usually stop at the vertical variation, but challenged to play around. Beach mindset helps.
Do #yoga. Today. Everyday.

Beach favorites? For me, handstands. For the rest of my gang, other stuff, like
Beautiful sunsets and sleepy mornings. VACATION! Opening up to all of that goodness and beauty. Not hard to do on the beach with this dog and my family. And small bits of yoga.
Tidal pool mermaid. I am not happy IN this pose or WITH this pose. Even at the beach. More practice. But I don’t want to practice this one. So I don’t. It remains rough, with tight hips and shoulders.
Stand on your head. On a board. In the water.
Eka Pada=one leg. And lifting one leg in this pose is hard, especially for the first time. There was a period when I was doing a LOT of hot yoga that I finally got comfortable doing it. Because I was doing this pose a LOT. Even lifting an arm. Since then, I have been avoiding all of thIs. As students in my classes can attest, don’t teach them enough either. Sooooo, this
Water works. Water wheel.
Lakeside yoga is fun, even if this pose makes me feel like I am tied up in a knot. All parts. Another one I never practice. But here it is for day 17 of the #julyyogachallenge #backtobackbends with @kinoyoga @beachyogagirl @aloyoga.
“I see her orange ball. The bumpy one she puts under her butt. She’s not using it. Maybe it’s my turn.”
HELLO thoracic and shoulder opener with Dwi Pada Viparita Dandasana. A hard one. Trying to keep it in my upper back with the knees bent. Not really ready for the straight legs if I have any integrity elsewhere. All for Day 15 of #julyyogachallenge #backtobackbends with @kinoyoga @beachyogagirl @aloyoga.
