P E A C E. Ahhhhh. Life feels so good after a hot and sweaty yoga class. I love yoga. Maha gratitude to my awesome local flow studio @extend, the generous @arletkoseian, and the great @likaelwood for always making me feel so good. And hanging around to chat too. 😀 Happy Friday indeed.

Do yoga. Today. Every day.

Honor or challenge the natural currents of life? This is my constant question. In a current ebb in my practice. Feeling low, slow, easy. Do I wrestle with it, encourage myself to keep on keeping on? Or linger in the low down, allow the slow flow? Typing this, I know the answer. At least for today. Not either/or but both. Honor where I am. And practice with that in mind. Ok. I will. Go slow. Be low. And see where it takes me.

Do yoga. Today. Every day.

I bow to my awesome children, their excellent teachers at the Black Belt Martial Arts Center, and my beautiful partner in this big life of ours. Today was black belt testing for all three kids, two provisional, one first degree.

It has been a long, wide, exciting, sometimes bumpy road to this day. Everyone has worked hard, practicing with care, dedication, and intention. And it has paid off. It is a great day. We are almost there.

Feeling amazed and delighted by the diversity of yoga around me. Whether playing around in my garden, ahhhh, the sun is still shining. Or in our open room, working and planning, alone or linked to a computer. Or in a studio, where I was subbing this morning. Or in a gym, where I was earlier today, @anytimefitness in Kensington, taking a beautifully simple, thoughtful, and grounding class. There is so much yoga to be had. So many different flavors. So many different tastes to accommodate. I truly believe there is a yoga for everyone. Go find yours.

Do yoga. Somewhere. Today. Every day.

A variation on what my mom used to say: Hurrah hurray. It’s the first of May. Outdoor yoga starts today.

There is even an #OutdoorYogis challenge for the month of May. Or I if you are into the challenges, there are many, including #BendyYogisFlow or #YogaWithIntention. Even for beginners, #MayIBeginYoga.

It’s May. Go outside. Breathe. Do some yoga. Today. Every day.

If you are still awake, turn off all of your electronics, and take a moment to sit still with yourself. Be quiet and alert. Consciously relax your body. Your face. Your shoulders. Your belly. Your thighs. And turn your attention to your breath. Relax into the natural ebb and flow of you in a relaxed state. Watching yourself inhale. Watching yourself exhale. Feeling the rise and fall of your chest and abdomen as your breath moves through you. Sit. With yourself. In this present moment experience. Breathing. Being. Softening. Allowing yourself the sweetness of stillness. It is nourishing to be awake and to be still. Give yourself this nurturing sustenance. For as long as it feels good. As long as you need. And then turn in for the night. It may help you to sleep a little better and wake a little more rested.

Do yoga. Today. Every day.

No matter how many flowers you surround yourself with, you are still sitting inside in front of a computer. It’s DC yoga week. Get out into it. Studios all over town are participating, including one of my favorites, @extendyoga. There are some classes for $5. Find out more: http://extendyoga.com/2012/05/25/dc-yoga-week-at-extendyoga/.

There is also lots of yoga on the mall on Saturday. Fun times.

I’m back. It’s time. Some vacation away. Some loitering away at home. But Yoga Nag is back. Tonight, hanging out in one of my favorite places: downward facing dog, adho mukha svanasana. What a brilliant pose. Been practicing (not nearly as much as I want or need), planning, teaching, playing, and now back to nagging. I hope everyone has been doing your yoga. If not, how about we get back to more practice together.

Do yoga. Today. Or tonight if you can still squeak a little practice in.

Frustrating short video for a friend attempt fails. Repeatedly. YouTube abyss. Finally realized being rejected due to background music. I think. Still don’t know for sure. Gave up. Too much wasted time for one day. Urghh. Where is my yoga breath and calm when I need it? Struggles with electronic work can send it far far away.

More reasons to do yoga. Today. Every day.
