Slightly bored by practice this week. Apathtic. Even prop play doesn’t make it more interesting. Easing off, which is probably the opposite of what would be best, eg, keep practicing through thick and thin. Argh. I am a believer in the body’s ebbs and flows. This serves my undisciplined self well. And child’s pose is nice. 

Do yoga. Even when you don’t want to practice. Try something. See what happens. You can always take child’s or just lie down.

Sunday 

Happy Sunday friends.

I don’t usually have a big practice on a Sunday. I sleep in. I lay low. I am lazy! But I am doing this funny challenge, #sisterhoodoftravellingyogapants. So, I had to warm up enough for this doozy of a pose, and it is getting easier, as do most things with practice. It no longer feels like a face smash but can take the weight off of my face and even lift my chin a bit. Practicing with blocks under shoulders helps.

Maybe this isn’t your Sunday pose. Maybe yesterday’s yoga feels more like Sunday for you. Yep. I get that. Whatever it is, do #yoga. Today. Everyday.

Fun Pose?? Friday


Working on this crazy hard balance pose (for me) as spured by a friend’s post on one of my pages. I haven’t tried it in a while. Still hard for me. But I managed to hold it numerous times yesterday and today. And I learned some interesting things, like you really need to hug in. And up. No sinking into floor or your bones. Muscles are on.

Crabby Practice

Crabby practice. Or, feeling crabby, reflected in my practice. Nothing felt good. Or interesting. Or smart. Even child’s pose. Wahhhhh.

What to do? Depends on the day. Some days, keep plugging away. Some days, walk away. Some days, make some shit up. That’s what I did today. And it was sort of fun. It sort of lifted me out of the fog. I’ll be okay. I worked through it enough to know that.

What do you do when your practice isn’t your best moment, when it doesn’t feel good, when you don’t feel good?
